EduNova Welcomes VIPs from Jamaica
Within the span of a year, EduNova has made great strides in fostering deeper ties with public and private sector organizations in Jamaica. Not only did EduNova lead two trade missions to the island with various EduNova members and associates in June 2008 and March 2009. EduNova also participated in several important visits to Nova Scotia from Jamaican officials in recent months.
EduNova attends OECS Donors Conference
EduNova was pleased to accept an invitation to attend the 2009 Annual Donors Conference at the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Secretariat in St. Lucia in June 2009.
Yemeni Ambassador meets with EduNova Members
His Excellency Khaled Mahfoodh Abdulla Bahah, The Ambassador of Yemen to Canada, visited Nova Scotia in July and took the opportunity to meet with the staff and members of EduNova. EduNova members and associates including Saint Mary's University and STR Consulting have carried out work in Yemen and a number of large contract opportunities have recently been identified in this region for members and associates.
EduNova Wins World Bank Consulting Contract in the Bahamas for NS Team
In May, the World Bank group retained the services of an EduNova consulting team consisting of Mount Saint Vincent University and Nobes Consulting to develop a Strategic Planning and Distance Education Strategy for the College of the Bahamas.
EduNova and Nova Scotia Business Inc. Partner on Return
In May, EduNova welcomed the opportunity to introduce Nova Scotia companies and organizations to the United Arab Emirates during Nova Scotia Business Inc.'s third trade mission to the region since the opening of the EduNova Gulf office in September 2007.
EduNova Coordinates Embassy of Canada University Tour in Gulf Region
EduNova Gulf was awarded a contract by DFAIT and the Embassy of Canada in Abu Dhabi to implement the Middle East Education Initiative (MEEI) which takes place from October 11 - 22.
Export Rally in Cape Breton
On September 21 and 22, EduNova attended the Trade Team Nova Scotia Export Rally in Sydney, Cape Breton where both Ava Czapalay and Amber Germain delivered presentations on the UAE and the Caribbean and met with nearly 30 Cape Breton companies interested in exporting. A second Export Rally will be held this fall in the Wolfville area.
Success for the 2009 Nova Scotia Counselors' Tour
From July 19 - 26, EduNova welcomed 21 high school counselors to Nova Scotia to tour the universities. The tour was EduNova's largest and most diverse group to date, comprised of both guidance and independent counselors working in nine different countries and from 9 American states.

With the end of the holy month of Ramadan, the Gulf office in the UAE is preparing for a busy fall of local outreach and regional travel.
Canadian Liaison for the African Development Bank Visits Nova Scotia
On June 19th EduNova, along with its trade development partners on the NS IFI Working Group, welcomed Mr. Ezzedine Cherni, Liaison with the African Development Bank to Halifax. This was the first visit to Nova Scotia for Mr. Cherni and a great opportunity for institutions and companies to learn more about the operations and strategies of the African Development Bank. |
