Research Chairs

Whether they work in natural sciences, engineering, health sciences, social sciences or humanities, Nova Scotia's university Research Chairs are recognized across Canada and around the world as leaders in their fields.

Together with their affiliated institutions and hospitals, our Research Chairs achieve the highest levels of knowledge in their disciplines, not only through their own work but also by teaching, supervising, and mentoring students and supporting the work of other researchers.

The collective expertise of our more than 60 Research Chairs has transformed Nova Scotia into a distinguished research leader.

If you come from abroad to study under the supervision of a Research Chair, you will work alongside experts who are exploring treatments for cancer and Alzheimer's disease as well as experts in areas of chemistry, physics, oceanography, information technology and many other fields of study.

Our universities achieve and sustain a strong culture of academic inquiry and innovation by building on the world-class skills of their researchers and by taking an interdisciplinary approach to research.

Nova Scotia Community College Research

NSCC's team of more than 20 scientists and staff has extensive expertise in geomatics, health and life sciences, the environment, aerospace, information and communications technology, renewable energy, agriculture, energy and teaching and learning.
